I've been a BCSC member since 2002. I was looking to meet people who shared the love of skiing and other outdoor activities. I have enjoyed numerous and awesome ski trips to great resorts.  I've volunteered to be a board member for8 years and have became the Club's President. I helped organize the BCSC race team at Timber Ridge.  I am also your club auctioneer at our annual fundraising event for the BCSC.

I’m a retired research biologist, born and raised in Ohio.  When I moved to Michigan in 1987 to work for The Upjohn Co., I connected with Lee’s Adventure Sports for many of their out west ski trips, who I credit for getting me hooked on this wonderful activity!  I transitioned to the BSCS 10-15 years ago, and have enjoyed and appreciated many of the club ski trips I’ve been on. My other passion is sailing and racing my Hobie 16 and I am very active in the Hobie world. I was fortunate to sail the Hobie Women’s Worlds with my crew, Peggy Wray, and have been a long-standing officer in the Austin Lake Catamaran Association.  Besides skiing and sailing, I enjoy cycling, both with the Kalamazoo Bike Club and in the Zwift virtual world, and more recently, kayaking and paddle boarding on Long Lake, Portage, where I reside with my significant other, Dave and our two felines.

I grew up in Flint area but graduated from WMU with a major in accounting.  Met my husband Larry of 42 + years in a college ski club.  We stayed in the Kalamazoo area since graduating and have a daughter and son-in law living in Minneapolis with grandchildren.  I retired in 2016 as an administrator of a busy 110 ER physician group.  I love the outdoors and making sure I get my 10,000 steps per day on my Fitbit.  My husband and I love being active in summer and winter.  We spend a lot of time in northern Michigan, kayaking, biking, golfing, card playing, cross country and down hill skiing.  We joined the BC ski club to meet people and get great deals on trips.

I

My introduction to BCSC occurred in the late 90s when my parents took me on a couple of the Winter Park train trips. Let's just say I've been hooked on skiing ever since! After some time in Kentucky pursuing an education and employment opportunities, I’m absolutely thrilled to be back in winter wonderland. I benefited greatly from the time given by BCSC board members when I was a young skier; now I feel I've been given the opportunity to pay it forward.

One could argue that I’ve been a lifelong member of the BCSC as my parents met through the club back in the late 1950’s, and my father is still an active member.  I love the art and sport of skiing and what it does for the mind, body and soul.  Being a part of this long standing club makes me proud and the role of Internal Vice President suits my personality because I like to connect people, learn, and talk skiing!  Please reach out to me if you have ideas for general meeting presentations, club marketing, membership enrichment/expansion ideas and more.

I joined the club over 15 years ago as I was looking for people to enjoy my passion of skiing with here in MI and out west.  I attended the General Meetings and learned they needed help with the Club's bus trips, so I volunteered my time to organize them the past several years.  I have attended a few out west trips.  I am passionate about the sport and want to do everything I can to make options to get involved available to everyone.  I grew up skiing VT and have made it to heli-skiing in the Bugaboos of British Columbia, CANADA. I enjoy the members of the club, young and more seasoned.  Cheers, to the love of skiing!!!!

I have been a active member since 1996. I enjoy the camaraderie of the group outings. Julie & I enjoy biking, snowshoeing and kayaking. My first ski trip with the club was the Schuss learn to ski weekend.  My club responsibilities have included serving on the board of directors, trip chair person and am currently the web manager.

I joined BCSC in 1989. In 1997 I became a board member. Since that time I have served as Internal President for one year and four years as President. Besides skiing I enjoy golf, biking and anything that has to do with water plus playing cards, theater and travel. I like that the club is an all season club and have found that by participating in club activities you get to meet members and make friends. It's a great club to belong to.

I have traveled out west with the BCSC a few times over the past several years and attended the day bus trips.  I’m a regular skier at Timber Ridge and like to race giant slalom.  During the off season you can find me on the golf course.”

Joe and I were looking for a fun group of people to ski with and we found them at BCSC.  We have been members since 1996.I served as Membership chair for 15 years. Besides skiing I enjoy snow shoeing, biking and kayaking. My other interests include sewing, knitting and spending time with our dog, Barron.

My husband David and I met teaching skiing at Swiss Valley in Jones, Michigan!  Skiing has been a great way for our family to spend time together.  All five of our children ski.  Our youngest sons have skied since they could walk (22 and 26 months) and joined Swiss Valley's Junior Development Team by the time they were four.  My husband has served as a race team coach over the years. We joined the club to take our boys to Winter Park on the train and had a blast!  We look forward to enjoying time on the slopes and getting to know club members.

I starting skiing in high school ski club. I then joined the club in 2001 because I wanted to attend a trip that the club was hosting to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.   I have stayed a very active member of the club because of the fun trips and friendly people. I truly love being outdoors, enjoying things like golfing, hiking, and biking. I also enjoy being on the water, kayaking and boating in the summer months.  I have been on the Board previously as the club Treasurer for over 15 years. I wanted to get back on because I am passionate that the club stay around so others can have as much fun as I have over the years.

I have enjoyed many years as a BCSC member. I’m married to my sweetheart Janet and we have two wonderful adult children Megan and Ethan. Each ski trip I have been on with the club has been a wonderful experience.  I have been skiing since the early 1970’s. I taught my two children how to downhill ski. Because of their love of skiing my daughter and son-in-law (Ben) are now teaching their children how to downhill ski. Over the past two winters, I have been able to ski with my grandchildren. It has been a joy to be a part of this.  I hope to fulfill the role as a board member and carry on the great traditions of the BCSC.
