BANFF, CANADA Ski Trip Recap

We had it all. We had new snow. We have blue bird days. We had a day the light was so flat that you did not know you were going downhill. We had many laughs, some even so hard we cried. We made new friends. We had great food and made great memories.
The Canadian Rockies did not disappoint. Some of us skied all three resorts: Sunshine Resort, Lake Louise Resort and Mt. Norquay. Many of us did excursions like long snow packed hikes, dog sledding and snowmobile riding. We celebrated a birthday, an anniversary, Valentine’s Day, the super bowl and the Olympics while together.
We enjoyed two nights right at Sunshine Resort, where we had ski-in, ski-out accommodations and the restaurants almost to ourselves. So beautiful at night with the stars so bright they brought you instant peace. We then traveled by city bus to downtown Banff without the hassle of having to move our luggage another time. We arrived there with most of our rooms ready and luggage in them as promised by 4pm. No lost luggage on any of the transfers or flights.
It was not all roses for one of our trip goers as she took a fall at 9:45am on the first day and was in a knee brace the entire week. She has many of her own adventures to tell, but a few that I know of…. While on the sled into ski patrol, she enjoyed a ride INTO the building. Think car wash while still on the red sled. She got a snowmobile ride from a good-looking guy named Matt. She experienced a gondola ride in a wheelchair and a Taxi ride to Banff’s hospital. Thank you to all the other trip goers for their help especially Sarah Richards.
Thank you to you all for pitching in for luggage loading and unloading, especially Sat. Feb 14th when our regular bus was going to be 12 hours late and we have to pivot quickly.
Looking forward to the next out west trip in 2028.
