Camping and Kayaking/Canoeing Weekend on the Pine River

August 20-21-22, 2021

In Wellston, Michigan

Camping /Canoeing weekend on the pine river

Camping sites are available at Twin Oaks Campground, Wellston, MI. We will paddle the Pine River on Saturday and/or Sunday or Monday. Review the details below

Michele and Scott will be co-hosting the weekend. Michele and Scott have camp spot #44 for Friday, Saturday night and are leaving Sunday. Michele has also reserved spot #37 which is next to them. Please contact Michele directly to hold this spot for you/your family. (First come first serve) There are plenty of tent site and sites with electricity for this weekend available, but I would not wait. Please contact Twin Oaks directly to reserve your camping site (other than #37). Hayley's phone number at Twin Oaks is 231-848-4121 and their website is https://www.twinoakscamping.com/ to look at a map of camp sites. If you wish to come in on Saturday and leave Monday or whatever time version works for you, please communicate that to Twin Oaks when you make your reservation.

Their will be a group dinner on Saturday night. Michele and Scott will provide the main dish and then those attending, please bring a side dish to pass. You are responsible for all other food that weekend.

As for paddling the Pine River. Michele and Scott will be paddling the Pine on Saturday and using Bosman's paddle sports for their reservation. If you wish to paddle on Saturday, please call Bosman's directly and make your reservation. They have kayak single or tandem, and canoes. Michele will make pick up and drop off locations with Bosman's for the Saturday group. Michele and Scott will be putting in at Dobson Bridge and getting out at Low Bridge. There is a shorter trip that is, in at Dobson and out at Peterson Bridge. You will need to let them know what you want when you make your reservation. The stretch from Dobson to Peterson is more calm. Just let them know you are with the BC ski club. Bosman's phone number is 877-622-6637 and their website is https://bosmancanoe.com/ . The Pine is very busy on Saturdays so if you want, you can of course paddle Sunday if you so desire. You will need to coordinate pick and drop off with Bosman's if you choose this option.
